Inclusive procurement and social value

At Tilbury Douglas, inclusive procurement is part of how we deliver social value and meet our obligations across public sector frameworks such as CF25, Pagabo, Scape, Crown Commercial Service (CCS) and other national and regional frameworks.

Through our ESG strategy, building a better future together, we are committed to ensuring that the way we buy goods and services creates positive outcomes for communities as well as delivering high-quality projects for our customers.

Working with Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprises (VCSEs) is a key part of this commitment and supports our customers’ social value objectives while strengthening local economies. With public sector frameworks increasingly requiring social value to be a scored and measurable part of delivery and customers expecting their supply chains to demonstrate fair access to opportunities, support for SMEs and VCSEs it is essential that access to opportunities is made clear and inclusive so as to maximise meaningful local impact.

VCSEs play a vital role in addressing social and environmental challenges. They reinvest profits into their communities, create employment and training opportunities for people facing barriers to work, and often deliver strong local knowledge and innovation.

Our intention is to make working with VCSEs a normal part of how we do business. We have committed to spending a minimum of £5 million with social enterprises by 2030 and to ensuring that every project and office engages with the VCSE community.

VCSEs support Tilbury Douglas across a wide range of services, both on construction projects and within our offices. Opportunities vary by location and project but often include facilities services, environmental services, landscaping, signage, catering, training and community support.

Any VCSEs who are interested in working with Tilbury Douglas are invited to submit an expression of interest by clicking here. This allows us to understand your organisation, services and geographical reach. Submission does not guarantee work but will enable you to be registered on our “supply for good” database that ensures fair consideration.

Tilbury Douglas is committed to building positive and respectful relationships with VCSEs. Organisations can expect clear communication, fair and proportionate procurement requirements, prompt payment practices and recognition of social and environmental value.
