Pupils from Sandilands Community Primary School join groundbreaking event
The Tilbury Douglas team at Sandilands Community Primary School in Wythenshawe, Manchester, recently welcomed pupils from the school for an exciting groundbreaking event to mark the commencement of works on site.
Five students and the school’s headteacher joined the Tilbury Douglas team for the groundbreaking ceremony to mark the milestone of work starting on site.
The project will be delivered over two phases. Phase one is to construct a two-storey building to provide teaching spaces, a dining hall and offices, allowing a capacity for over 400 students. Phase two involves the demolition of the existing school.
Brian Hanlon, Project Manager at Tilbury Douglas, said: “It was fantastic to welcome the Sandilands students and Headteacher on site to celebrate the groundbreaking.”
Joanna Higginbotham, Sandilands Headteacher, shared: “The children loved the event and are looking forward to seeing the new school evolve.”
