Rishi Sunak visits Tilbury Douglas' Catterick Integrated Care Campus construction site, showcasing pioneering healthcare and defence collaboration
Tilbury Douglas, a leading UK-based building, infrastructure, engineering, and fit-out company, proudly welcomed Rishi Sunak, Conservative MP for Richmond and Northallerton, to the Catterick Integrated Care Campus construction site. Sunak visited the site to witness the ongoing progress of this groundbreaking project.
As the MP for Richmond since the 2015 general election, Sunak has shown consistent support for the Catterick Integrated Care Campus, particularly during the project’s business case approval through National Health Service England (NHSE). His visit brought together representatives from the Ministry of Defence (MOD), Defence Medical Services and Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), the National Health Service (NHS), and Tilbury Douglas to celebrate the advancement of this unique healthcare development.
The Catterick Integrated Care Campus is a first of its kind integration between the MOD and NHS and will deliver transformative integrated health and care services to the military and civilian communities. The collaboration will enable shared facilities expertise and learning to optimise the health and care services for people across Catterick, North Yorkshire and the wider Richmondshire areas.
The facility will include modern health and care services, significantly enhancing the quality of care available in the region.
In addition to delivering high-quality care, the project also prioritises social value. Subcontractors from within a 50-mile radius of Catterick are being prioritised, supporting local businesses and providing opportunities for veterans in the workforce.
Paul Ellenor, Regional Director – North East at Tilbury Douglas, said: “We are proud to welcome Rishi Sunak to this landmark project, as the Catterick Integrated Care Campus will significantly elevate the standard of healthcare in the region, offering modern, state-of-the-art facilities for both military and civilian populations.”
Phil Shaw, Managing Director – Building North at Tilbury Douglas, added: “This visit provided a valuable opportunity for Tilbury Douglas to highlight our strategic focus on delivering exceptional outcomes in both the healthcare and defence sectors. With our deep expertise in these sectors, we’ve been able to integrate best practices and innovative approaches to ensure the Catterick Integrated Care Campus achieves the highest standards of care and operational excellence. We are pleased to be at the forefront of a project that will make a lasting difference to the health and wellbeing of military personnel and the surrounding community.”
Catterick Integrated Care Campus is expected to be handed over in Spring 2026 and operational by Autumn 2026 and, upon completion will stand as a model for future integrated healthcare facilities.
