Tilbury Douglas and CRADLE mark Baby Loss Awareness Week
At the start of 2022, Tilbury Douglas signed a national partnership with CRADLE, a charity providing a range of services to support those affected by early pregnancy loss.
To mark Baby Loss Awareness Week (9 – 15 October 2022), the partnership is hosting an awareness event on 12 October at Stepping Hill Hospital, where Tilbury Douglas is delivering a new Emergency & Urgent Care Campus.
Together with the clinical team, colleagues from Tilbury Douglas and CRADLE will pack CRADLE Comfort bags for the hospital’s Jasmine Ward, which will be made available to patients at an appropriate time during their care. This follows the Tilbury Douglas and CRADLE event which was held last week at the Liverpool Women’s Hospital, as part of the national partnership with CRADLE Charity.
This week the Midlands team will also be putting tissue packs together to deliver to Heartlands, and in Wales, colleagues will be meeting to pack comfort bags for Prince Charles Hospital.
Tilbury Douglas works extensively in the healthcare sector and is currently onsite at several NHS trusts at which CRADLE also has a presence. This means colleagues can access direct support, as well as provide services for the local communities in which they operate. As the company’s nominated charity, employees also focus on raising funds for the worthwhile cause which supports local communities directly.
CRADLE works with more than 50 hospitals across the UK, providing free resources and services to clinical staff, and support to anyone who has experienced a pregnancy loss or termination of pregnancy. CRADLE is expanding their services across the NHS and expect to be in every Trust by 2025. If you need support, contact info@cradlecharity.org.
Lucy Davies, Head of Social Value at Tilbury Douglas, commented: “We are proud to be the first contractor to work with CRADLE to support not only all our colleagues, but also the communities in which we operate, for those affected by pregnancy loss.
“Baby Loss Awareness Week is an important time to talk more openly about issues impacting not only women directly, but also their partners and families, and most importantly be able to offer them the right support with CRADLE’s assistance and resources.”
Louise Zeniou, CEO of CRADLE, added: “Huge impact has been made since forming our national partnership with Tilbury Douglas and we are now delivering CRADLE services in collaboration across Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, Wythenshawe Hospital, Liverpool Women’s Hospital, Stepping Hill, Heartlands and Arrowe Park Hospital.
“We appreciate the support and passion from the Tilbury Douglas colleagues who we are working with, and we look forward to collaborating on launching CRADLE together across other NHS Trusts.”
This partnership aligns with Tilbury Douglas’ sustainability strategy called People, Planet and Performance (PPP), which provides a comprehensive approach to carbon reduction, sustainability and social value outcomes across the business and for its customers.
