Tilbury Douglas appointed on the Worcester Police Station project
Tilbury Douglas, a leading UK building, infrastructure, engineering and fit-out business, has been appointed as the principal contractor on a £1.4 million project at Worcester Police Station for West Mercia Police, via the PAGABO M&E Solutions Framework.
The project will involve removing the existing cast-iron gas boilers and installing new air-source heat pumps, helping to decarbonise the station. The team will also upgrade the centralised hot-water system to point-of-use water heaters and install a new hot-water system within the custody suite.
In addition, the works will include upgrading the incoming electrical supply, together with improvements to the station’s electrical distribution system.
Ross Mather, Managing Director – Engineering at Tilbury Douglas, commented: “We are pleased to be working with West Mercia Police to deliver these important upgrades at Worcester Police Station. The project will draw on our engineering expertise to replace ageing systems with more efficient, lower-carbon technology, while carefully managing the works within a live operational environment.”
Work began in late September, with completion scheduled for late April 2027.
