Tilbury Douglas awarded £4 million Ambulatory Gynaecology project at Liverpool Women’s Hospital
Tilbury Douglas, a leading UK building, infrastructure, engineering and fit-out business, has been awarded a £4 million contract to deliver the Ambulatory Gynaecology project at Liverpool Women’s Hospital. The project involves a comprehensive ground floor refurbishment to create day case treatment rooms, significantly enhancing the hospital’s capacity to provide high-quality care for patients.
Scheduled for completion in the summer, this marks the fifth collaboration between Tilbury Douglas and Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust, who recently became part of NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group. Previous successful projects include the award-winning Neonatal Unit, the Colposcopy refurbishment, the MRI extension, and the construction of the Fetal Medicine Unit.
The project team working alongside Tilbury Douglas includes Gilling Dod Architects, Hoare Lea, and Sutcliffe, bringing together a wealth of expertise to ensure the delivery of a state-of-the-art facility.
This project underscores Tilbury Douglas’ commitment to delivering positive social value. With an ambitious target of achieving a £2.4 million social value return on investment, the project will focus on key initiatives to address the cost-of-living crisis, prioritise local supply chain spend, and further develop its partnership with the Cradle charity.
The refurbishment is expected to not only improve patient experience but also contribute to the local community, showcasing Tilbury Douglas’ dedication to combining construction excellence with social impact.
