Tilbury Douglas breaks ground on the new state-of-the-art facility for Applebee Wood School
Tilbury Douglas, a leading UK building, infrastructure, engineering and fit-out business, has officially commenced construction on a major new facility for Applebee Wood School, located in Preston, marking a significant milestone in the region’s educational infrastructure.
This development comprises a new two-storey structure designed specifically to meet complex educational needs and will feature three distinct wings centered around a core administration and therapy hub.
The groundbreaking ceremony signified the start of a comprehensive redevelopment delivered under the Department for Education’s (DfE) School Rebuilding Programme.
This scheme follows Applebee Wood School’s recent integration into The Sea View Trust Multi Academy Trust. The project represents a substantial investment designed to replace existing facilities with a modern, purpose-built environment for up to 168 students and staff.
