Tilbury Douglas celebrates watertight milestone at Catterick Integrated Care Centre
Tilbury Douglas, a leading UK-based building, infrastructure, engineering and fit-out company, is pleased to announce that the Catterick Integrated Care Centre has reached its watertight milestone, marking a key stage in the construction of this state-of-the-art facility.
The achievement was celebrated with a special event attended by representatives from The Ministry of Defence, Tilbury Douglas, Vivo, the NHS and AECOM. This significant milestone underscores the collaborative efforts of all partners involved in delivering a pioneering healthcare facility for military personnel and the wider community.
The Catterick Integrated Care Centre represents a first-of-its-kind MOD-NHS partnership, aimed at providing integrated health and care services to both the military and civilian populations. By combining expertise from both sectors, the project is set to optimise healthcare delivery across Catterick, North Yorkshire and the wider area.
The facility will offer modern medical and rehabilitation services, significantly enhancing the quality of care available in the region. Designed with the latest healthcare innovations, the centre will support the wellbeing of its users through high-quality, accessible, and efficient services.
MOD Programme Director for the CICC Group, Captain Mark Shephard, said: “Today marks a significant milestone in the development of this fantastic new facility which will deliver state-of-the-art healthcare to our military and civilian patients. The CICC will be an unparalleled environment in which the collaboration of the Defence Medical Services and NHS teams will create a real sense of community as military personnel, their families, and NHS patients from across the Catterick Garrison area will gain access to expert healthcare in a modern, purpose-built and integrated facility.
“Ultimately, working alongside our fantastic NHS colleagues, the CICC will be able to treat up to 1,000 people a day. It is a great example of what we can do when Defence and the NHS work together to combine our resources and expertise for the mutual benefit of our staff and patients.”
Lisa Pope, Deputy Place Director, North Yorkshire, at NHS Humber and Noth Yorkshire Integrated Care Bard, said: “The ICB is thrilled to see the Catterick Integrated Care Centre reach this important milestone. This state-of-the-art facility represents a significant step forward in providing integrated healthcare services to both military and civilian populations. The collaboration between the NHS and Defence Medical Services is a testament to our commitment to delivering high-quality, accessible, and efficient care. We look forward to the positive impact this centre will have on the health and wellbeing of our community.”
The Catterick Integrated Care Centre is expected to be fully operational by Autumn 2026 and will stand as a model for future integrated healthcare facilities, strengthening the provision of essential services for years to come.
