Tilbury Douglas completes refurbishment of Claver House for the Department for Work and Pensions in Scotland

Tilbury Douglas, a leading UK building, infrastructure, engineering, and fit-out business, has successfully completed the fit-out of Claver House in Dundee for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

The extensive refurbishment of the DWP’s call handling centre included the replacement of lighting, redecoration, installation of new flooring, and renewal of welfare facilities. The project was delivered in two phases, ensuring the building remained operational with minimal disruption to staff.

To ensure the works were carried out safely and with minimal noise impact, the Tilbury Douglas team installed a 60m long, 4m high acoustic screen in the main hall area. Fume extraction equipment was also used to control dust and fumes, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment throughout the refurbishment.

Tilbury Douglas is proud to have handed over the project ahead of schedule, demonstrating the company’s commitment to efficient project delivery and client satisfaction.

Barry O’Hagan, Regional Director – Scotland at Tilbury Douglas, commented: “We are delighted to have completed this project ahead of programme, delivering a high-quality fit-out while maintaining a live environment for DWP staff. This achievement highlights our team’s dedication and expertise in delivering complex refurbishments with minimal disruption.”

“This project marks another successful collaboration between Tilbury Douglas and the Department for Work and Pensions, building on our extensive experience in the civil government sector. It reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional service and innovative, sustainable solutions across the UK,” added O’Hagan.
