Tilbury Douglas marks key milestone of its Trowbridge Integrated Care Centre scheme
Tilbury Douglas has marked a key milestone of its Trowbridge Integrated Care Centre project by hosting a topping out ceremony, attended by the Mayor of Trowbridge, Stephen Cooper.
The new facility will replace the town’s community hospital, providing local people with an additional primary care service, more same-day urgent care provision, and space to support mobile diagnostic units.
The facility will embrace sustainable design and cutting-edge technology, which will form part of its commitment to being one of the first completely Net Zero NHS buildings in the country – setting a new benchmark for healthcare infrastructure.
The building was developed by NHS Property Services and funded by NHS England, the Department of Health and Social Care, NHS Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board, and Wiltshire Council.
Andrew Drake, Commercial Manager at Tilbury Douglas, said: “It was great to mark a key milestone in the delivery of what promises to be a truly transformative facility for the local community and it was inspiring to see first-hand the scale and ambition of this initiative, which will bring together urgent care, maternity services, mental health support, and community diagnostics, all under one roof.”
Relocating services from the current Trowbridge Community Hospital to the new site will be phased as part of a planned relocation process.
