Tilbury Douglas marks significant milestone at Catterick Integrated Care Campus with Topping Out Ceremony
Tilbury Douglas, a leading UK-based building, infrastructure, engineering and fit-out company, is pleased to announce the successful topping out of the Catterick Integrated Care Campus, marking a key milestone in the construction of this state-of-the-art facility.
The event was celebrated with a special ceremony that brought together representatives from The Ministry of Defence’s (MOD) Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), Tilbury Douglas, Vivo, UK Strategic Command (UKSC), the National Health Service (NHS) and AECOM.
The topping out ceremony, a time-honoured tradition in the construction industry, involved the project team gathering to sign the steel beam that will form the roof of the new facility. This symbolic act underscores the collaborative effort of all partners involved in the project and signifies the nearing of completion of the building’s structural framework.
The Catterick Integrated Care Campus is a first of its kind integration between the MOD and the NHS and will deliver transformative integrated health and care services to the military and civilian communities. The collaboration will enable shared facilities expertise and learning to optimise the health and care services for people across Catterick, North Yorkshire and the wider Richmondshire areas.
The facility will include modern health and care services, significantly enhancing the quality of care available in the region.
The MOD’s Defence Infrastructure Organisation awarded the design and construction contract to Tilbury Douglas, which includes a substantial commitment to social value. Subcontractors from within a 50-mile radius of Catterick are being prioritised for the work to support local business and veterans.
Catterick Integrated Care Campus is expected to be handed over in Spring 2026 and operational by Autumn 2026 and, upon completion, will stand as a model for future integrated healthcare facilities.
