Tilbury Douglas marks steel signing milestone at new Buckton Fields School
Tilbury Douglas, a leading UK building, infrastructure, engineering and fit-out business, has celebrated a major milestone in the delivery of the new Buckton Fields Primary School, which is part of the Preston Hedges Trust, by hosting a steel signing ceremony with some of the school’s students, staff and members of the Trust’s senior leadership team.
The scheme, based in Northampton, is being delivered on behalf of the Department for Education, and comprises a new build two-storey primary school, including the installation of a new all-weather pitch.
Supply chain partner, Shipley Structures, assisted with the event by enabling the pupils to experience the steel being craned into site.
Chris Loach, Regional Director – East Midlands at Tilbury Douglas, commented: “The staff and pupils of the school have waited a long time for a permanent home, and it was fantastic to welcome them on site to leave their mark on their new school. Moments like this really bring the project to life, highlighting the positive impact it will have on the local community and maybe inspire a new generation into the construction industry.”
