Tilbury Douglas participated at TeenTech Insight day at Manchester Metropolitan University

Tilbury Douglas, a leading UK building, infrastructure, engineering, and fit-out business, recently took part in the TeenTech event at Manchester Metropolitan University, joining forces with other industry leaders to inspire the next generation of innovators, engineers, and construction professionals.

The event brought together more than 60 Year 9 and 10 students from schools across Greater Manchester to explore future careers in science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM).

TeenTech events are highly interactive and designed to inspire young teenagers and their teachers about the contemporary world of science, engineering and technology.

As part of the student challenge, Tilbury Douglas used its Connect Configurator 3D technology to help students design the second floor of a hospital whilst adhering to client minimum requirements and specific build targets.

Laura Marshall, Head of Social Value at Tilbury Douglas, commented: “Coupled with the use of AI, we were pleased to introduce the students to some of the ways technology is evolving within the construction industry and the importance of communication and teamwork.

“The event also gave students the chance to explore different career options and learn how the construction industry is putting sustainability at the heart of design and build.”
