Tilbury Douglas participated at TeenTech’s Sussex Festival
Tilbury Douglas, a leading UK building, infrastructure, engineering, and fit-out business, recently took part in TeenTech’s Sussex Festival, held in Brighton, to inspire the next generation of innovators, engineers, and construction professionals.
The event brought together more than 280 students from schools across the region to explore future careers in science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM).
TeenTech, an award-winning charity, hosts events that are highly interactive and designed to inspire young teenagers and their teachers about the contemporary world of science, engineering and technology.
As part of the event, Tilbury Douglas’ workshop was designed to demonstrate the transferable skills of innovation, research, and critical thinking. The students were challenged to trial various sequencing of scratch coding and physical designs to achieve the most efficient whole design.
Gordon Stirling, Sector Director – Health at Tilbury Douglas, commented: “It was great to once again be collaborating with TeenTech, having previously supported some of its past events this year, as engaging with students really assists in inspiring the next generation of talent. This allows the students to understand the diverse skills needed in construction, how technology is driving change in our industry and the opportunities available to them. We look forward to continuing to support TeenTech’s future engagements with the Manchester Festival planned on 4 June 2026.”
Sally Dixon, Executive Producer & Festivals Project Manager at TeenTech, added: “TeenTech is very grateful for the continued support provided by Tilbury Douglas at our festivals with the provision of engaging activities and ambassadors. They make a real difference to the students’ enjoyment of the events. Thank you very much.”
