Tilbury Douglas to lead the construction of All Saints’ Catholic High School
Tilbury Douglas, a leading UK building, infrastructure, engineering and fit-out business, has been appointed to lead the construction of All Saints’ Catholic High School on behalf of the Department for Education.
Ellis Williams Architects has designed the three-storey 45,700 sf ft building in Rawtenstall to meet net zero sustainability targets.
The school includes various classrooms, a drama studio, a design technology workshop, an art room, science labs, a library and a dining hall. A new outdoor sports facility, cycle storage and a car park will also be built on the site.
In addition to Ellis Williams, the project team includes ICENI Projects, structural engineer AJP, mechanical engineer TACE, and highways consultant Hydrock.
The project will create employment and skills opportunities with a plan targeting a social value return on investment of 45% addressing the needs of the local community.
Tilbury Douglas is making a significant contribution to the future of education delivering eight schools in the North West working with the Department for Education.
“As a local Rossendale resident it’s great to see the All Saints’ project starting on site. I know it will provide much improved teaching space for students and staff. It also provides opportunities for us to engage with the local community and I know we are already talking to M3 Project, a young people’s homeless charity based in Rawtenstall about how we can work together.”
