Tilbury Douglas wins first North West Construction Hub Project with Adswood Depot Contract
Tilbury Douglas, a leading UK building, infrastructure, engineering, and fit-out business, has secured its first project on the North West Construction Hub (NWCH) Medium Value Framework with the award of Adswood Depot project.

Procured through Star Procurement for Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, this marks a key milestone for Tilbury Douglas following its appointment to the NWCH Framework.
Located next to the Adswood Household Waste and Recycling Centre, the new depot will serve as a central hub for essential council services. The project involves the development of the site and construction of infrastructure to relocate Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council and Totally Local Services from Bird Hall Lane, Cheadle Heath, allowing Stockport Council’s Eco Park project to begin.
The Adswood Depot will accommodate services for aids & adaptations, pest control, highways, stores, procurement, street lighting, waste (bin storage), and highways maintenance. The facility will also retain existing features including a salt dome and vehicle wash. Work is expected to commence in early 2025 and be completed by August 2025.
The NWCH Framework enables the delivery of projects valued between £3m and £8m over a three-year period, with an optional one-year extension. Tilbury Douglas was one of 11 construction partners selected after a rigorous evaluation process.
Martin Horne, Regional Director – North West at Tilbury Douglas, said: “Winning the Adswood Depot contract is an exciting moment for our team and solidifies our presence on the North West Construction Hub. We look forward to supporting Stockport Council’s infrastructure by delivering this important project.”
Phil Shaw, Managing Director – Building North at Tilbury Douglas, added: “This is a major win for us as it’s our first project under the NWCH framework. It reflects the trust placed in Tilbury Douglas and showcases our ability to deliver multi-service facilities.”
