A roundup of our awards so far in 2022
Tilbury Douglas, a leading UK building, infrastructure, engineering and fitout company, has seen a great first half of the year with multiple and varied award wins and nominations. We’ve done a roundup of them all below.
June 2022
- British Construction Industry Awards
- We’ve been shortlisted for the Environmental Project of the Year award for our work on the Hessle Foreshore Tidal Defence Scheme
- Education Estates Awards
- We’ve been shortlisted in the Contractor of the Year > £50m category
- Offsite Construction Awards
- We’re finalists in the Best Use of MEP and Pod Technology category for our Walsall Manor Urgent & Emergency Care Department project
- British Construction Industry Awards
- We’re shortlisted for Temporary Works of the Year award
- This award is for our innovative engineering solutions to provide a new link tunnel under A-listed porticos on The Scottish National Galleries Project
- Constructing Excellence North East Awards
- We won the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion award
- This recognises our commitment to attracting, retaining, and developing a diverse and skilled workforce
- We also won two awards for the A69 Bridge End Junction project:
- Highly Commended – Civils Project of the Year
- Highly Commended – Client of the Year for National Highways
- Constructing Excellence East Midlands Awards
- Nick Parish, one of our Project Managers, won the Future Leader award
- Nick has achieved a lot of success at an early stage in his career; notably, leading the successful delivery of Cedars Academy in the East Midlands
May 2022
- G4C North East Awards
- We won the Commitment to Employee and Training Development award
- We were recognised as the winner for our outstanding commitment to reduce the skills gap and make the construction industry an aspirational career choice
- Constructing Excellence West Midlands Awards
- Our Midlands team won the Health, Safety and Wellbeing award
- The award was given for the team’s approach and policies to health, safety and wellbeing, particularly regarding planning and handling on recent large-scale demolition projects at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital
April 2022
- Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Robert Stephenson Awards
- Our Wolsingham Sewage Treatment Works (STW) Growth project team won the Large Project award for projects over £5m
- The award category was for projects over £5 million for demonstrating excellence in civil engineering for works constructed in the North East region, and is the first time a water project has won
March 2022
- Construction News Awards:
- We were shortlisted in four categories this year:
- Community Engagement Project of the Year – Red Kite View
- Contractor of the Year (turnover over £500m)
- Health, Safety and Wellbeing Excellence (Company)
- Project of the Year (under £20m) – Red Kite View
- We were shortlisted in four categories this year:
- Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents Awards
- Tilbury Douglas Construction and Tilbury Douglas Engineering received an Order of Distinction award, making it 22 and 21 years of consecutive Gold Awards, respectively

- Constructing Excellence National Awards 2021
- Our Infrastructure team (Water North) won the Innovation Award for the Wolsingham Sewage Treatment Works (STW) Growth Improvement Project and was also ‘Highly Commended’ in the Civils Project of the Year category
