Supply chain
As one of the government’s strategic suppliers, we deliver vital projects across a range of sectors including health, education, highways, justice, defence and water.
Supporting our clients in delivery requires a diverse supply chain, so we partner both nationally and locally with a wide range of suppliers, and we are proud to say that over 57% of our supply chain is small to medium enterprises (SMEs).
Our central procurement team leads category management of key sourcing groups while our regional buying teams work day-to-day with local suppliers to achieve the best outcomes for our projects.
We have strong regional supply chains, with each region maintaining a list of preferred subcontractors for core trades and partnering with them, building relationships and providing ongoing opportunities.
Who we look to work with
We seek to work with companies that are at the forefront of their industry and who will help us deliver our goals for projects, digitisation and sustainability.
We embrace a right first time approach and encourage our site teams and supply chain to submit lessons learnt and best practice to the register, which is then shared with the wider business.

Modern slavery
We are committed, in accordance with our values and culture and as part of our wider approach to the protection and respect of human rights, to ensuring that slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking are not present in any form in the company, relationships with workforce or the workforce of direct and indirect suppliers and subcontractors.
Subcontractors
As a member of Build UK, Tilbury Douglas has adopted the Common Assessment Scheme (CAS) and has partnered with Constructionline to achieve this goal. We expect all subcontractors to achieve Constructionline Gold membership level or equivalent, the Constructionline CAS standard.
To find more information about obtaining Constructionline Gold status, visit the Tilbury Douglas page on the Constructionline website and use our code when registering (1FYIEN). If you have achieved CAS with another assessment body, we require you to request your data to be sent to Constructionline to ensure consistent monitoring and engagement.

Prompt Payment Code
We are signatories of the government’s Prompt Payment Code and every six months we publish data on the government’s website as part of its duty to report on payment practices and reporting (PPR).
As a business, we continue to improve our processes and provide training to colleagues to pay our supply chain time promptly and to terms.
Full reports are published on the GOV.UK website.
