Highway and road construction, engineering and maintenance
Keeping Britain moving
We help renew and improve the UK’s major road highway network through our construction, maintenance, and engineering services. We work with major organisations such as Highways England, Transport Scotland and local authorities to deliver improvements to the road network. This includes junction, bypass and road construction and enhancements, and bridge, tunnel, roundabouts and highway construction.
We are experienced at working with all stakeholders including clients, supply chain and road users to ensure we share learnings and promote innovation in a rapidly changing sector.
Our current road and highway construction projects include:
- Rotherham Parkgate where we’re constructing a new highway junction and link road connecting the A6123 Aldwarke Lane with the Parkgate Shopping complex, and a park and ride facility to service the nearby tram terminus
- Replacement of St Anne’s Road Bridge in Hyde, Greater Manchester, which involves demolishing the current bridge over the M67 and constructing a new bridge in the same location
Bridge construction & engineering: A63 Princes Quay bridge move
We have installed a new bridge that crosses the A63 and will enable key sites in Hull to be connected, shaping the future of the city.
The bridge, part of the Highways England project, was manufactured off-site, transported to its destination and jacked into its final position in a 24-hour procession. It weighs 150 tonnes and is 60 metres long.
The bridge will enable pedestrians and cyclists to cross over the busy dual carriageway, while the removal of a pelican crossing will improve traffic flow on the busy A63.
