Tilbury Douglas remains a proud partner of the Considerate Constructors Scheme
Lucy Davies, Social Value & Sustainability Director at Tilbury Douglas, discusses the importance of the Considerate Constructors Scheme and the key achievements from 2022.
Tilbury Douglas is a proud partner of the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), which has promoted and supported improvement in the way construction activity impacts the community, the environment and the workforce over the last three decades.
CCS is an independently managed, not-for-profit organisation that works side-by-side with the construction industry and the public to raise standards in construction.
As a standalone major contractor, this is important to us, as we are committed to continually raising standards and improving productivity in line with key Construction Playbook themes. These include health, safety and wellbeing, community engagement, sustainability and social value to ensure we deliver positive impacts.
Over the past six months we have recorded some exemplar results, with Tilbury Douglas’ scores remaining above the industry average. This reflects the fantastic work that our site teams carry out every day and how we are continuing to raise the profile of the construction industry and the positive impact it can make within local communities.
We have achieved several scores of 45, which is full marks in all three of CCS’ assessment areas. On our Liverpool Women’s Hospital site, we scored a 46, having received a much-coveted best practise point – a huge achievement, placing the site in the top 10% of health sites nationwide.
These recent excellent CCS scores demonstrate our extensive construction industry experience, utilising our knowledgeable teams which are used to working in a range of environments.
