We’ve completed a theatre refurbishment project at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham

Interserve Construction has completed and handed over four new operating theatres at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The project involved reconfiguration and refurbishment of existing accommodation at the hospital and upgrading existing operating theatres – thereby helping the hospital to increase their surgical capacity.

Interserve was awarded the contract by the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust as part of the P22 Framework in June last year, with the programme completed over a six-month period.

The scheme is just one of Interserve Construction’s health project in the Midlands, with a number of similar upgrade projects currently being conducted to assist the NHS across the East and West Midlands. The business is also undertaking a significant project at Walsall Manor Hospital where they are soon to begin on site with a major Emergency Department facility.

Simon Butler, Divisional Director, Interserve Construction, said:

“Our work at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital builds on our relationship with University Hospitals Birmingham, following the delivery of the Birmingham Nightingale Hospital last year. These high quality fast-track projects underscore our expertise and capabilities as a long-term partner to the NHS.”
