For graduates, there will be numerical and reasoning assessments along with one called Situational Judgement. Situational Judgement tells us what you would do in job related environments and activities and how you effectively make decisions and problem solve.
- 6. Interview
-
If you have applied for an apprentice role and you are selected for an interview, after you have successfully completed all your assessments and strengths questionnaire, you will be contacted via our careers’ portal confirming if you have been successful to go onto our Video Interviewing stage.
The video interviewing comprises of you being asked five questions giving our Hiring Managers more information about why you are the best candidate to join their team. Don’t worry if you have never done this before, there are instructions, information, advice and guidance provided and you get to do a test run before commencing with the first question.
You will be invited to reveal the question and will have 45 seconds once you press this to start answering. You are given three minutes to answer the question and there is a countdown timer which lets you know when time is running out. You will be surprised how long three minutes is when it’s counting down, but don’t be distracted – utilise the time well – it’s your time to shine!
You are given three attempts for every question, but if you are happy with your answer then submit and move onto the next question until you complete all five.
The final stage of our recruitment is to meet in person with the Hiring Manager and one of the team. If you are successful, you will be sent details of when the interview will take place, where it will take place and confirmation of who you will be meeting. This will happen one to two weeks after you have completed your Video Interview.
The interview is a two-way opportunity; firstly, for us to learn more about your background and also for you to get to know more about Tilbury Douglas and the role. You will be asked competency questions around the role. Remember try not to be nervous – see ‘prepare great questions for your interviewer’ which we hope may help!
