Tilbury Douglas completed the design and build of a new Sport England funded, ‘BREEAM Excellent’, state-of-the-art leisure centre at Fleming Park, Eastleigh. This flagship leisure centre replaced the existing leisure centre which was no longer fit for purpose and was constructed on the existing playing fields.

The building boasts an eight-lane, 25m swimming pool, a learner pool with adjustable flooring, 15 badminton court sports hall, a versatile, multi-station gym and a group spinning studio. Outside, the full-size-all-weather pitch and five-a-side pitches will be retained and refurbished and four new tennis courts will be opened.
Added value
The onsite team was heavily involved in charity functions in collaboration with the leisure centre, as well as being ecologically minded, by closely monitoring the local watercourse for any potential contamination. This has been reflected in the high CCS scores attained by the site, and subsequently the site won a CCS 2017 ‘Gold’ Award.
