Supply chain fraud alert
There has been an increase in fraudulent activities where scammers are trying to impersonate the Tilbury Douglas brand or names of senior employees to place orders or attempt to open credit accounts with suppliers. To reduce the risk of fraud, please remain cautious when taking orders that appear to be from our organisation.
Here are some things to look out for:
- Emails: Look carefully at the email domain it has been sent from, as scammers are known to use domains which contain the “Tilbury Douglas” name. Genuine emails will come from “@tilburydouglas.co.uk” only.
- Placing orders: Scam orders may be made for various goods via telephone, email, or other messaging platforms. Please note: Tilbury Douglas does not place orders via WhatsApp or text.
- Impersonation: Scammers are known to have pretended to be from our procurement and accounts teams, as well as impersonated our senior leaders.
If you think you may be subject to a fraud attempt, contact our supply chain team to verify its authenticity. We are working hard to prevent such scams and appreciate your vigilance to reduce risks.
