The New Lower Farm Academy In Nuneaton Open Its Doors After Tilbury Douglas Completes Construction
The construction of a new two-storey, 2,180 m2 primary school, accommodating 420 primary pupils and 25 nursery pupils has been completed by Tilbury Douglas, a leading UK building, infrastructure, engineering and fit out company.
Lower Farm Academy in Nuneaton has now opened its doors to pupils on time, having been delivered on site throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Delivered within proximity to a live school environment, Tilbury Douglas has worked closely with stakeholders to ensure a safe and smooth build process.
Michael Woods, Project Manager for the DfE, commented: “Thanks to all the Tilbury Douglas team for their hard work and efforts to deliver the main school building in readiness for school occupation. Despite all the challenges within the industry’s supply chain and the continued impact of COVID, the team managed to hand over a building that was impressively high in standard – well done to you all.”
Simon Butler, Regional Managing Director of Building – Midlands at Tilbury Douglas, said: “Lower Farm is one of several DfE school projects that we have handed over this summer. From lessons learned on previous projects, we identified a number of subtle changes to the design to enhance educational outcomes and comply with the latest DfE guidelines. We are very proud of the completed project!”
