Tilbury Douglas commences work on The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Stand
Tilbury Douglas has begun constructing the famous Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo show stands for the 2022 event.
Following on from a two-year absence because of the Pandemic, the Tattoo is returning to Edinburgh with its 2022 show, “Voices”. A Scottish tradition which dates back over seven decades, Tilbury Douglas is playing a key role by erecting the venue which will host the event.
Tilbury Douglas has constructed the stands since 2014 as part of their ongoing framework agreement. The highly technical project includes 760 tonnes of steel, 35 miles of cable and over 1,600 crane lifts. All this carried out on the busy Edinburgh Castle Esplanade where hundreds of thousands of tourists take in the sites of the city.
Cameron Stewart, Regional Director at Tilbury Douglas, said: “We are delighted the Tattoo is back on this year; we recognise the prestige of delivering such a venue. The project itself is highly technical and Project Manager, Steve Forshaw, and his team bring their years of experience and enthusiasm to ensure the stand is delivered on time and to the highest quality.”
“We are now on site and working hard with our partners at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo to ensure almost 230,000 people coming through the doors in August have the best experience possible.”
