Tilbury Douglas Set to Deliver £3m Crown Street Improvement Project at Liverpool Women’s Hospital

Tilbury Douglas, a leading UK building, infrastructure, engineering and fitout company, has been appointed to lead the £3m Crown Street Improvement project at Liverpool Women’s Hospital.

As its name suggests, the Trust specialises in the health of women and their babies – both within the hospital and out in the community. It is the only specialist trust of its kind in the UK and the largest women’s hospital of its kind.

The ground floor modernised unit will provide a dedicated Imaging and Colposcopy Department. The project will start on site on 29 October and is due to complete May 2022. The works follow on from the completion of the new second floor Fetal Medicine Unit.

The appointment of Tilbury Douglas comes after its successful completion of Liverpool Women’s Neonatal Unit in 2020. This new project will include the same design team – Gilling Dod Architects, Hoare Lea and Sutcliffes.

Phil Shaw, Divisional Director for the North West at Tilbury Douglas, commented: “Having worked closely with Liverpool Women’s Hospital for many years now, we are delighted to have been appointed to deliver this new unit that will provide a specialist national health service for women and their babies.”
