Tilbury Douglas successfully completes the construction of the £6.3m Same Day Emergency Care Centre

Tilbury Douglas has completed the construction of the £6.3m Same Day Emergency Care Centre on behalf of Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

The 1,170sqm purpose-built, two-story extension is home to a new 24-7 service offering rapid assessment, diagnosis and treatment and, if clinically safe to do so, discharge home on the same day, therefore avoiding hospital admission.

The fast track, nine-month project used digital technologies, modern methods of construction and split shifting to accelerate delivery allowing the Trust to open the new Centre to patients sooner.

Phil Shaw, Divisional Director for the North West at Tilbury Douglas, commented: “We are proud to have successfully delivered this fast track scheme in under nine months. It is such an important scheme for the Trust, as it will increase capacity for the local community at a time when the NHS needs it most. During the project, the team worked hard with the local community to deliver a Social Value Return on Investment of £2.4m.”
