Our recruitment process
- Stage 1 – Online application

We want to get to know you, your background and what motivates you!
Apply for the vacancy you are interested in, and you will be asked some questions as part of the application form about what you know about the apprenticeship and why you would like to work for Tilbury Douglas – please ensure you answer all the questions providing evidence of research. You will also be asked to upload your CV.
On receipt, your application will be acknowledged, and we will keep you updated to the status of your application.
- Stage 2 – Testing/assessment

On being shortlisted, as part of our recruitment process, there are two online assessments – verbal reasoning and numerical reasoning and an online Strengths Questionnaire for you to complete. You will receive a notification to let you know it is there and ready for you your completion.
As these tests are not designed to be completed on your mobile, see our tips for being successful at this stage of the recruitment process which also provides some links for you to practise for free before you do the real thing.
- Stage 3 – Video interview

On successfully moving through stage 2, we will invite you to complete a pre-recorded interview where its ‘All about you’ – we want you to answer some questions so it is your time to shine! You will be set a deadline to complete the task giving you flexibility to record at a time and place to suit!
- Stage 4 – Face to face interviews

The final stage of the process is where you get to meet the Hiring Manager and one of the team at one of our local regional offices.
You will receive confirmation of the outcome of your interview and will also receive your verbal and numerical test results. If you are successful, you will receive an offer from us and everything you need to know before you have a date confirmed in your diary where you will embark on your new career in construction!
